Our family
I am a youth pastor’s wife, and a previous fourth grade public school-turned Christian school-turned homeschooling teacher.
When I was growing up, my answer to “what do you want to be when you grow up?” was always a teacher and a mom. By the grace of God, I’ve been able to accomplish both of these things!
My husband, Jared, and I met in high school, but didn’t date until after I was graduated from college. We both needed some time to grow up! He and I married in 2012 and then moved a couple hours away, where my husband began his first ministry position as a children’s pastor.
We have three kiddos: two girls and a boy. They were born in 2014, 2016, and 2021. We felt called to pursue a change in ministry, and a month before our middle daughter turned one, we packed up and moved home to begin a position in youth ministry. We live in central North Carolina and love the time that we get to spend with our teenagers at church, and we also love that we are close to grandparents and siblings and cousins!
Our homeschooling journey
Our family began homeschooling after Covid-19 turned everything upside down. Before Covid hit, I didn’t even want to consider homeschooling as an option. I soon realized that homeschooling might be a good option, and beyond that, we might even love it. I’m still learning and growing and figuring out how best to make it work for our family!

Crafting and creating
I grew up loving to create. One could often find young Beth taking the tape from the kitchen drawer and going at it. My mom likes to remind me that I once used clear tape and printer paper to make myself a dress! Fortunately for everyone, my time in the fashion industry was short-lived. My main hobbies avenues for creating now are crocheting and painting. After years of creating custom-ordered crocheted stuff animals for customers, I’ve started to write my own patterns. It’s fun and time-consuming and a great challenge! I also love to paint using watercolors and acrylics. Watercolor painting is so relaxing to me, and I love using it to make cards and gifts for family and friends.
